Charolais International Chairman's Award
Chairman’s Award
First presented in 2026 at the World Congress hosted by Australia, the Chairman’s Award recognizes an outstanding contribution to the development of Charolais internationally. The award, to be presented by the Chairperson of the annual Congress or Technical Conference, is to be made to someone who has made a significant contribution to the development of Charolais and Charbray Internationally. 2026: Helge and Candace By (Canada) presented by Colin Rex
World Congress – Australia
The Inaugural award was presented to Candace and Helge By from Canada for their long-term contribution to our international Charolais and Charbray community. Candace retired after 10 years as Secretary for Charolais Charbray International, and Helge has been President twice. As delegates on the committee Helge and Candace have consistently offered considered and valuable comments to our international meetings. When Covid stopped international gatherings in 2020, they were instrumental in developing the International Video show competition to maintain a global interest in our breeds. They were driving forces behind development of the highly successful International Youth program. Candace and Helge as publishers of the Charolais Banner have been active in promoting Charolais and Charbray activities internationally and have hosted many international delegations visiting North America. International Chairman, Colin Rex said in presenting the award “organisations benefit from the contributions of many and it is fitting we recognize those that contribute for an extended period of time, Candace and Helge have been at the forefront of the Charolais Charbray International and have been unselfish with their contributions. We thank them both for their contribution to our breeds international footprint.”
